a personal Guide for women to your style in the stars

  Isabella Rosellini's Fashion Profile

Her fashion style:  eternally elegant and in touch with her own individuality.

Isabella Rossellini, born on 18 June 1952, 18:30 in Rome, Italy, one of twin daughters of the famous movie star, Ingrid Bergman and the Italian film director, Roberto Rossellini, cannot fail to possess a natural elegance and style that gives her a sense of grace and beauty whatever she chooses to wear, no matter how casual or sophisticated.

Isabella has become very famous in her own right, first as a model with Vogue, then as an actress and, perhaps most famously, as the face of Lancome for twelve years, between the ages of 28 and 40 until the cosmetics giant decided to let her go in favour of a “younger model”.  Undaunted, she set up her own cosmetics line under the aegis of Coty promoting strongly her belief that women should use cosmetics and clothes to enhance their own individuality and to bring out the best in themselves and for themselves.

She possesses the same irresistible “Venusian” looks and charm that were the trademark of her mother, Ingrid Bergman and both mother and daughter have the Sun in their charts very closely placed to the planet Venus: Isabella’s Sun and Venus are within two degrees of each other in Gemini and her mother’s Sun and Venus are with four degrees of each other in Virgo – both signs of the Zodiac that are associated with youthfulness and an eternal “childlike quality”.  However, where Isabella’s mother was a focus for beauty and became a symbol of it (Sun and Venus in the first house), Isabella is more involved with bringing out beauty in others (Sun and Venus in the 7th house).  (Although they have very similar birth charts, Isabella’s twin sister, Isotta, became an academic and teacher of Italian literature and this may be indicated, astrologically, by Isotta’s career point being much closer to the more serious natured planet, Saturn).

Isabella, with her Sagittarian ascendant, will not be bound by fashion trends.  She will take what she wants from them and from any place and any culture and put them together on her own terms.  If you don’t like it, that’s your affair.  She won’t stop to worry about it.  Although she has the Venus ruled and appearance conscious sign of Libra on her 10th house of career and public image, she has the planet of realism and common sense, Saturn, prominently placed there, also.  She is used to dealing with challenges and changes of fortune but this astrological factor also tells us something about her approach to life and the overall impact that she makes.  If it’s worth having then it’s worth  working for, in order to get it – and her image and style very much reflect that philosophy.

Her overall style is described as “bright and breezy” but also tells us that she seeks “attractive, harmonious lines" and, in her personal life, particularly enjoys clothes that are casual, adaptable and comfortable in soft, natural fabrics and communicate that she is both sensual and approachable.

Her astro fashion profile indicates that she has a very broad colour palette: red and lemon mixes, blues, pinks, red and white mix, multicolours, but also dark colours, charcoal grey, black or dark brown.  Red is emphasised so is a particularly stunning choice for her.

Her fantasy images – the sort of image that the public might pick up on and find most stunning are the Shepherdess or the Handmaiden of Bacchus”, and “Diana the Moon goddess or Benefactress”.  So, these images used by her to promote  her own personal lines should have a terrific impact on her buying public.

In 2003, joint ventures that involve wide scale publicity can bring some stress as Isabella is a woman who knows what she wants and her plans may not suit her partner’s.  In particular, this year, where setting trends in fashion are concerned, she may have to curb the extent to which she wishes to be unusual, different and, to some extent, shocking in her promotional approach regarding the needs of others.  Partnerships may become volatile under the tension! Nevertheless, the overall effect for 2003 should certainly be an attention-getter.
