Kylie Minogue’s Astro Fashion Profile

Her fashion style - sophisticated with an “impish” sense of humour

Kylie Minogue was born on the 28th May, 1968 at 11 a.m. in Melbourne Australia.  She first became known in the UK when she appeared, at only eighteen years of age, in the Australian soap, “Neighbours”.    She started life as an actress in 1986 but after a hit, with friends, of a cover version of “The Loco-motion” and a huge success with “I should be so lucky” – a UK no. 1 hit in January 1988, she soon became famous as a pop star across the world.

Kylie has had some ups and downs in her life.  She has had some great years and some pretty bad ones – she had no chart hits for two years between 1995 and 1997 - but her Cancer Ascendant not only shows she has real quality style but that she is a born survivor with a keen business sense that gets better the older she gets.  Her funny, cute, youthful image very well described by her Sun in Gemini, was very much in evidence in the early part of her life in the spotlight and she was very successfully able to trade on her “little sweet girl” image.  Venus rules popularity as well as fashion sense and she has this planet very close to the Sun in her chart.  This describes her appeal to the general public very well.  It is also the planet that rules the career point in her chart – the Midheaven – and, in her 10th house of career is an indication that she could also have been a professional model.  But with the sign of Cancer rising, she is also excellent at promoting a more sophisticated look and pulls off the glamour thirties movie star image to fantastic and mesmerising effect!

Her astro fashion profile describes her style as being “bright and breezy” and “refreshing and youthful” but she is also “sensitive, comforting” and likes the clothes she wears to be “functional, comfortable and feminine.”  She looks good in lightweight fabrics that move easily with her and that keep their integrity under the stress of her lifestyle and the working rigour to which they are submitted – something that keeps its freshness and crisp “just put on” look, no matter what!

She would look especially good in red and white, natural green, blue/black, grey and soft browns but she can wear a multi colour mix and carry it off beautifully.

Her fantasy images perfectly reflect the major themes that the public like in her videos and in her live performances: The “Cleopatra or queenly cat” look or, more romantically, “The lady of the Lake or Mermaid”.

In 2003, Kylie’s style will be struggling to metamorphose as it did in both 1990, when she went from the little girl look to a more mature way of presenting herself and 1997, when she moved her sophisticated look further along with the help and advice of stylists.  This coming year, a desire for a quieter more classy understated look may conflict with a natural need to make a big glamorous statement so there may be some “mistakes” while she experiments with the development of her style to another stage and this is more likely to be in evidence up to about the middle of the year.  This is the year when designers like Selina Blow and Paul Costelloe, noted for intricate detail and fine tailoring respectively, could bring out the very best in Kylie rather than the more startling and flamboyant designs of Versace and Alexander McQueen.
