The wedding announcement that the
British nation and probably most of the Western world when they have
given it some thought, has been expecting for several years has finally
been made. Camilla
Parker-Bowles and Princes Charles are to marry on April 8th,
this year.
Before I go into the sort of style,
fabrics and colours that might help the future Duchess of Cornwall look
her radiant best I would like to make an astrological note about the
timing of the wedding.
The ceremony is to be a small one
and this is entirely in keeping with the astrology for the day that the
couple has chosen. On April
8th, there is a solar eclipse in Aries but not until just
about half past ten that night.
Solar eclipses, in astrology, have been associated with great
events and can mark major chapters in the history of great nations and
their ruling families. However,
the wedding is planned to take place before the eclipse which means that
the moon will be diminishing in light as she gets closer and closer to
the sun. Traditionally,
astrology says that an event which is meant to be secretive or not to
draw undue attention to itself, should be planned to take place in the
three days before an eclipse as this is a time when things can be kept
low key and matters have the best chance of remaining private.
So it is very interesting to see that the royal wedding is
planned as a low-key event that fits in very well with the date chosen
for it.
Like the Princess of Wales, Camilla
is a Cancerian but, unlike the late Princess, she has a huge emphasis in
this sign, having the Moon, Venus, Mercury and the Sun there and all in
the 12th house. She
is very sensitive, very caring, tactile, a good mother figure and a
great keeper of secrets. But
it is difficult for these qualities to be recognised by the general
public because the planets that represent them are buried in the part of
Camilla’s chart that naturally hides things away.
Nevertheless, the qualities are there and, in astrological terms,
it explains to me why the two young princes are reported to like her so
much (not to mention their father!).
As far as a wedding outfit is
concerned, because of the multi-astrological emphasis in the sign of
Cancer in Camilla’s chart, her astro fashion profile suggests
shimmering fabrics like satin or silk in shades of silver, green or
russet but with a flash of gold or red (or a mixture of these) in some
form of embroidery or flashing on the dress, itself.
The material should, of course, be of excellent quality but it is
important that it will last so I imagine she will choose something that
can be adapted for wearing at subsequent functions.
She may wear a modest jewelled hair decoration along the lines of
a small tiara.
Her style, with Sun in Cancer and
Leo rising is a confident and regal one (very appropriate) but she can
be very sophisticated, too. She
needs an image that is not forbidding, that does not make it difficult
for people to approach because she is very happy in the role of someone
who is seen as sensitive and comfortable
to be with so her clothes, generally, will need to communicate this and
the image she cultivates for her wedding day, in particular, will need
to reflect this quite clearly.
However, she will also look quite
stunning in angular, striking, flowing designs giving the impression of
a gown that is fluid and flowing but also contained.
Something tailored around the shoulders but which emphasises the
bosom and has a long swooping skirt
and gentle folds from waist to the ankles
I think she would look quite fantastic in a gown modelled on
those warn to the Oscars by such Forties Hollywood stars as Lauren
Bacall and Ingrid Bergman.
